“Home grown” in Central Iowa.
Back in the 70's, Larry Snyder began his 20-year career driving fuel transports. Returning after a short hiatus, his eyes were opened to a new environmental issue. On a daily basis, drivers were throwing rags, dripping with gasoline and diesel, into Iowa's landfills. When he studied and calculated the waste, Larry discovered over 4,000 gallons of fuel are lifted from the UST and absorbed by Iowa soil each year.
Larry knew there was a cleaner, cost effective way to measure a tank. He first used a modified charcoal brush to wipe excess fuel off the gauge stick. Through trial and error, the patented FUEL RESCUE evolved when Larry designed a rigid but lightweight, hands-free base to house the four-sided squeegee element. Experts say FUEL RESCUE will make a monumental impact on Iowa's environment - saving fuel, saving money, and saving the environment.
FUEL RESCUE is “home grown.” Larry still resides on land in Waukee, Iowa that has been in his family for more than 150 years. The family has always been conservation-minded, focusing on crop rotation and other farm friendly practices.
Larry has partnered with several local businesses and entrepreneurs to grow his idea into reality. He is pleased to be a part of central Iowa's business community and to introduce the benefits of FUEL RESCUE to fellow Iowans.
